| What is Virtual Web Hosting ? -
Top |
|
Web InSite specializes in Virtual Web Hosting. This means that
we offer you a space for your web site on our high-speed FreeBSD
UNIX. Windows 2000, or Windows NT web servers. Thus you establish
a presence on the Internet. We can register your own domain name
on your behalf which will become your unique address on the World
Wide Web. Having your own domain name does not suggest that you
are renting web space, and, since e-mail can be addressed to your
domain (eg. YourDomain.Com) you will not have to announce a new
email address if you ever change internet providers.
|
| Do you offer dial-up internet access ?
- Top |
|
Web InSite does not and will not provide dial-up access. We decided
to keep our dual Redundant OC3 and OC12 line capabilities dedicated
to our WWW customers only. That way we can assure high-speed performance
even at prime-times. All of our virtual hosting accounts and services
can be reached through FTP. If you do not already have an account
with an access provider that has these capabilities (AOL, Prodigy,
and CompuServe, etc), we recommend that you visit The
List and search in your local calling area.
|
| Do you offer web page design services ?
- Top |
|
Yes, we do offer high-quality web page design service, as well
as CGI and JAVA custom scripting at reasonable rates. Please take
a look at our site showcase.

|
| Can I check domain name availability ?-
Top |
|
Yes. You can check the availability of any domain (use the box
on the top of the page) directly on our web site. If you order one
of our virtual web hosting packages the order form will also automatically
check if the domain name you have choosen is available or not.
|
| Does Web InSite handle domain registrations
? - Top |
|
Absolutely. Once you submitted your order we will contact the InterNIC
to request either a new domain name registration in your behalf
or transfer your domain from your current provider to our DNS. You
do NOT need to submit a registration or modification template to
the InterNIC as this will only delay your request
|
| What is "propagation" ? - Top |
|
Once the InterNIC announces that your domain name has been registered
(or transferred, if applicable), it usually takes about 3 to 5 working
days before it is active. All internet providers must update their
records and name servers (DNS tables) to reflect new site locations.
This is called propagation.
|
| Will I have unlimited access to update my
pages ? - Top |
|
You have unlimited access via FTP 24-hours a day. As such, you
can create and maintain your web pages on your own computer and
upload files to your web site at your leisure.
